## What is A2A?

The **Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocol** is an open standard under the [Linux Foundation](https://www.linuxfoundation.org/) that defines how AI agents discover, communicate, and collaborate — regardless of vendor, framework, or deployment model. It uses JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTP(S) and introduces core primitives like **Agent Cards** (machine-readable capability manifests), **Tasks** (units of work with lifecycle states), **Messages** and **Parts** (structured communication), and **Artifacts** (agent outputs).
